Boise State football coach Andy Avalos doesn't mince words when it comes to recruiting quarterbacks. 'It all starts with the quarterback,' Avalos said on early signing day last December. 'They run the show, and they have to lead on the field and in the locker room.' Avalos said his goal is for a quarterback to anchor every recruiting class. CJ Tiller anchored this year's class. Maddux Madsen, who is the favorite to win the No. 2 job this year, was one of the highlights of the 2022 class. Taylen Green, who was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year last season, led the 2021 class.
