He was booked into the Contra Costa County jail in Martinez, according to jail records. Investigators said they connected Cox to a white Toyota sedan that fled the scene of the fatal shooting of Sincere Martin in El Cerrito in late April, El Cerrito police said. Martin was shot and killed around 4:30 p.m. on April 23 in the 900 block of Galvin Street near Stockton Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. West Contra Costa Unified School District said Martin was a student-athlete who played sports for both De Anza High School in Richmond and El Cerrito High School.
